Naturbagriet - Copenhagen

"GF Baked Goods"
Address: Frederiksborggade 29, Copenhagen
Website: www.naturbageriet.dk

Naturbageriet is a little bakery that makes great GF breads & cakes. All of the GF food is stored above the glutenous food, and special tongs are used to grab them as to avoid cross-contamination.

The food itself is really fantastic! The GF breads taste better than any GF bread I've had before! (They are just perfect with butter.) Now if you are looking for something sweet, there is an extensive range of cakes to pick from. Some of my favourites include: the chocolate rum balls, and the chocolate brownies.

This is a must visit if you ever find yourself in Copenhagen.
Absolutely Fantastic!

Palæo - Copenhagen

"Paleo Diet"
Address: Hall 1, Rømersgade 18, Copenhagen OR Pilestræde 32, Copenhagen
Website: palæo.dk

Palæo is a bar/cafe in the Torvehallerne Market (There is also a cafe in Copenhagen CBD). All of its food is natural, and is designed with simplicity in mind.

Because it is all made to be like the food eaten during the Stone Age, no refined grains (and anything else post-agricultural revolution) are used in it. This is fantastic, as it means everything is GF!

Their wraps are amazing - and are made with an omelette pancake kind of thing. (They don't crumble while you eat them!) You can get them with Salmon, Pork, and Chicken.

They also make GF muffins! You can get blueberry ones, and banana ones too! They are really delicious, and make a great snack. If you want a drink, Palæo makes great juices to quench your thirst. They make a beautiful blueberry juice with mint and apple (Blåbærret), as well as a tasty mint with lemon, apple, and squash.

If you feel like cleansing yourself from the agricultural diet we eat today, come visit Palæo!

Torvehallerne Market - Copenhagen

"Fresh Food & Ingredients"

This huge indoor marketplace (not as big as the Queen Vic) is home to many different stalls & groceries, some of which offer GF products.

The market is split into 2 big warehouse style buildings, with an outside area between them which is full of fruit and vegetable vendors. Inside, you can find cheese shops, butchers, fish mongers, cafes, and other shops selling local goods.

If you are in Copenhagen, and need a place to stock up on local, organic ingredients, then look no further that the Torvehallerne Market.

Some of my favourite stalls include: Orsle Torvet (Fromagerie), Frisk Fisk (Fish Monger), Vita Boost (GF Panini), and C.O Torve Plads (Herbs).

Firefly Garden - Copenhagen

"Natural Vegan Food"
Address: Frederiksborggade 26, Copenhagen
Website: en.fireflygarden.com

Firefly Garden is a restaurant that is completely vegan. This is perfect for anyone with a lactose intolerance, and luckily they provide heaps of GF options. All their food is as organic as it can be, with in season fruits and vegetables coming from local suppliers.

They serve delicious juices and smoothies (soy or almond milk) too! I tried the Exotic Smoothie with almond milk, and it tasted great! Other favourites include the Pink Passion juice, and the Strawberry Coconut smoothie.
Left to Right: Exotic, Pink Coconut, Pink Paradise

For Lunch, I had the Danish Smørebrød. This is a traditional Danish dish of Vegetables and Fruits (traditionally meat too) on bread. It was delicious! The Smørebrød comes in 2 forms, normal or RAW. I had the normal version, but the RAW is GF and is very similar. (minus the glutenous bread)

I also enjoyed the Soup of the Day - Butternut Squash GF. You may also want to try the Daily Lunch plate (It was GF for us). Our's had a nettle polenta on a pea puree, served with a steamed greens, and with sliced daikon. - Fabulous!

The Desserts are very tasty, and you can get them GF too! I loved the Citrus Cheesecake with Rhubarb sorbet. You can also treat your tastebuds to the Cacoa-Avodcado Mousse - delicious!

Firefly Garden has fresh, tasty, organic, healthy GF food.
I would definitely recommend having a meal here!

Le Président - Copenhagen

"Sushi Bistro"
Address: Amagertorv 9, Copenhagen
Website: www.lepresident.dk

Le President is a Fusion Kitchen restaurant with a big selection of sushi. The kitchen makes all of its sushi gluten free. The in-house sushi chef prepares the food on the spot, and will try to adapt his dishes to the customer's dietary requirements. He even assured us that the Soy Sauce was GF.
The only thing that may not be GF is the wasabi.

The sushi is very nice, but you should think about getting a platter because it is of a good portion size.

This is a good restaurant to visit if you feel like some sushi!

Legoland - Billund

It's not usually known for its food, but Legoland's new initiatives are helping people with dietary requirements eat at its parks.

When I visited Legoland I was surprised to find that every stall selling food had a poster declaring common allergens in its food. (Nuts, Gluten, Dairy, Lactose)

At the Hotdog Stand you can buy gluten free Frankfurters! - You would never expect them to be!

I think that this kind of labelling should be brought to Australian fast food, and also to dining in closed off areas such as concerts, theme parks, and festivals. An idea as simple as this could make a huge difference to people's lives!

I didn't actually try the food at Legoland, but considering some of it is GF, you should give it a try if you end up there one day.

For such a great concept, Legoland Billund should be commemorated.

Alter Meierhof - Flensburg

"5 Star Hotel"

If you are looking to stay in Flensburg, and would like a classy hotel to stay at, go no further than Alter Meierhof. Besides having comfortable rooms, a great location, and having a spa area (pool, sauna, beauty therapy...) they cater extremely well to GF and other dietary requirements.

The dinner bistro is of a high quality, and the waiting staff will run themselves ragged trying to adapt dishes for you. For breakfast, you will receive the same great help from the staff. You can get tasty GF bread for your eggs, and the fruit, cheese, and meat bars provide other delicious options.

Alter Meierhof provides great GF treatment!!!
